Movember
The FortuneBuilders Family raised close to $3,500 for Movember at the 4-day Rehabbing Bootcamp this past weekend in San Diego. During the season to give thanks, start shopping for Christmas sweaters, and growing mustaches we promoted Movember. Movember is a month-long event where men grow mustaches during the month of November to bring awareness to, and fundraise for, prostate cancer and other male health associated charities. If you’ve been wondering, “What’s with all the silly mustaches lately,” now you know! Over the course of the bootcamp we provided various opportunities for everyone to give to Movember this past weekend.
JD kicked it off by introducing the campaign with his mustache and opened up a silent auction where the highest bidder got to shave JD’s mustache at the end of the bootcamp. JD was a bit hesitant about someone shaving his mustache, but he courageously stepped up and did it for a good cause raising over $500 in the silent auction alone! Courageous might not be the word we use to describe his sweater however.
Vince, another brave FortuneBuilder, stepped up for the popular push-up challenge and did 117 push-ups in a row, tying the record set by John Blackburn! With the pledges from the amazing students, Vince helped raise over $1,500. Keeping true to our “Crush It” motto, we didn’t stop there. FortuneBuilders took it a step further and donated the t-shirt proceeds to the cause. The weekend was filled with excitement and generosity. Thanks to everyone’s wonderful efforts!
