Habitat for Humanity Build Day

FortuneBuilders team members volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity build site in August and it was such a big success we held another company build day with Habitat. On January 5, 2013 FortuneBuilders participated in our second corporate build day. FortuneBuilders volunteers spent a Saturday getting their hands dirty for a great cause!

Paying it Forward and Reflecting Back

My fellow FortuneBuilders came together this month, to accomplish a goal that has made my heart overwhelmingly full. I'm grateful to share this story with you. Earlier this month, I set a goal to adopt 100 Angels as part of Salvation Army's "Adopt An Angel". What that means is that 100 kids would be able to have a holiday this season they wouldn't have otherwise had one.

Fall Festival Beach Cleanup

On Saturday, October 20th, I participated in the Fall Festival Beach Cleanup at La Jolla Shores in San Diego. The event was sponsored by The Unity Center, a spiritual center and philanthropic organization that my wife and I attend on Sundays and was held in order to help clean up our beaches and make our oceans safer for marine life.

Red Cross Fundraiser

Hurricane Sandy let me further explore and implement this attitude. I sincerely sympathize for the thousands of people that were affected by the hurricane, so instead of letting myself become deterred by such a huge tragedy, I decided I needed to do something, even if it was small in the grand scheme of things.

Carmel Valley 5K & Kids Fun Run

The challenging and unique course will begin at Carmel Del Mar Elementary School and will head south on Carmel Creek Road to the bike trail, heading east parallel to HWY 56. From there the course will take you out and back along a beautiful tree lined path with a mix of paved and trail running, splashed with some rolling hills. Runners will return to Carmel Creek Road, and then head back to the finish line at Carmel Del Mar Elementary School.
